Chuck Baldwin is Open to Presidential Slot
Chuck Baldwin, a veritable star amongst Constitution Party delegates, has declared that he will be available as a choice for President. I suspect he'll win, overtaking Alan Keyes on the very first ballot.

Ralph Nader to Declare
The rumor around the Progressive Water-cooler is that Ralph Nader is going to run for President...again. This would make Ralph Nader's 5th run for Presidency, outdistancing even Alan Keyes in do-overs.
It'll be interesting to see wether Nader wants to run as a Green or an Independent.

Louisiana's beauracracy
The Louisiana legislature had 78 bills relating to the creation of boards or commission, and created over 50 Commissions/Board by my count.
Just wow.
Just wow.

Alan Keyes: More news
I knew Keyes would benefit from protest votes after everyone else had dropped out, but I didn't realize he'd get this much press.
Keyes is on record as saying that Romney was responsible for the legalization of same-sex marriages in Massachusetts. Mind you, that article is from 2 weeks ago, but its still relevant.
"The appropriate course of action for Romney was to do nothing," he said. Instead, "as governor, he created, in essence, his own same-sex marriage rule and then enforced it -- reportedly threatening local clerks with dismissal if they refused to comply with his executive order."
Constitution Party members and former vice-presidential candidate, Herb Titus, is mentioned also.

Alan Keyes is making news....
..and lots of it. Surprisingly. I guess because Alan Keyes is one of only three candidates still active in the Republican Primaries, he is garnering more press than ever before. His campaign swing through Texas has been fairly successful (comparitively, I mean), generating lots of press.
Like this.

Lastly, this.
Lots of press for a guy who has recieved only 26,649 votes so far in all the Republican primaries. His highest scores were 1.48% in Kansas and 1.03% in Maryland.
I will give him this though--in 2000, he recieved about 1 million votes and 2 dozen delegates.

The power of the VEEP
I'v been contemplating the power of the Vice-Presidential slot on a ticket in the General Election. It honestly has the power to create a lot more buzz and bring in voters that otherwise might have never seen you. Because i'm a member of the Constitution Party--i'll use examples for it. I'll use all of the Presidential possibilities from that party.
The other contenders, Alan Keyes, Bob Smith, Rev. Chuck Baldwin, Judge Roy Moore and Jerome Corsi would all bring valuable assets to the ticket. Let's examine each.
Keyes - Keyes would attract many black conservatives who might not otherwise pay attention. I view this particular ticket as the LEAST dynamic of the combinations.
Smith - Perhaps the most dynamic ticket. Smith was a Senator from New Hampshire, so we would obviously reap the benefits of that. Additionally, Smith stood up for Elian Gonzales during that crisis and is very popular amongst Cuban-Americans. He also now resides in Sarasota, Florida---so he might be able to bring a natural constituency from Florida also.
Baldwin - Baldwin has maintained a high profile amongst Christian Conservatives and especially among Ron Paul supporters. He would attract considerable support among those passionate youths.
Moore - Moore is the former Chief Justice of Alabama and Gubanatorial candidate in the Republican Primary in Alabama, where he scored 35% against a popular incumbent. Moore also enjoys support from James Dobson, Tony Perkins, and countless other Christian Conservatives. Moore's support is deepest in Alabama naturally, but he (more than any of the others) has the ability to reach out to your average Christian Conservative.
Corsi - Corsi is popular amongst GOP Activists because of his involvement in sinking Kerry in '04. Corsi is almost the most prolific author in the anti-North American Union crowd and enjoys considerable support amongst its activists.
All told, I think a Moore/Smith candidacy brings the most to the table, with Baldwin, Corsi, Keyes, and Clymer serving as "advisors" and campaigning for them.

Possible big-name candidate here in Louisiana
I've been speaking with a man who is heavily involved in Conservative-Christian circles here in LA. His activism has been increasing lately and he's incredibly dissatisfied with his Republican counterparts--he claims he's considering the Constitution Party.
We'll see. I'll keep you updated.
